OASES Volunteers

Hey Volunteers!

Thank you all for you patience with Orientation and we’re glad that everything went well.  This coming week is the first week of tutorial for OASES! We hope you are all as excited as we are to finally meet (or reunite for some of us) with the students!

Please remember that your Tuberculosis Test Results must be ready BEFORE you go onsite to see the students.

If you haven’t already, remember that each day will need a name that alliterates with their day. Last semesters day names were:

Make It Rain Mondays

Trix Are For Tuesdays

We Will Rock You Wednesdays

This Is How We Do It Thursdays

Fridays. Friday? Fridays!

So think of some names for your day!

We hope everyone had a great 3-day weekend. The Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day, and President’s Day all in one weekend!

Hey Everyone!

We’re glad to have seen a lot of you at our Info Sessions last week! We had a great turn out on both days and we hope you all had a great time.

MISSED OUT ON INFO SESSION??

That’s okay! If you’re still interested in volunteering for OASES, we will be having Interviews all this week! If you weren’t able to attend the Info Sessions, drop on by our interviews this week (2/1-2/5) in Naia Lounge (in Lower Sproul) from 2:30-6pm and one of our coordinators will gladly give you a quick mini-info session. Print out a Volunteer Application under the “How to Apply” page on the right.

RETURNERS

If you want to return to OASES, but didn’t see us during tabling or didn’t have time. Just print out a Volunteer Application from our “How to Apply” page on the right and bring it by Naia Lounge this week during interviews.

Well we hope you’ve been having a great start to the semester and we can’t wait to start OASES!

Hey Everybody!

Hope you all had a great holiday and we’re back to recruiting volunteers for the Spring 2010 Semester!

Currently, coordinators are tabling on Sproul (through the rain), so if you are interested in volunteering please stop by our table and a coordinators will by able to answer any questions you may have.

Returners: New Returner applications are now available at our table and will soon be posted on this website. Please come fill one out at the table or print one from home and bring it to the coordinators at the table on Sproul.

Info Sessions: We will be holding two OASES Info Session this semester:

Wednesday, January 27th, 8PM in 220 Wheeler

Thursday, January 28th, 8PM in 200 Wheeler

These Info Session will tell you everything to know about all of our different program options. Coordinators will be there to lead you through the presentation and help answer and of your questions. So make sure to come check us out!

Hey There Volunteers!

The first week of tutorial is about to start! All of us at OASES are excited to see all of you, especially the kids! Please remember to bring in your TB tests for we cannot allow you on site if you have not taken it yet. ): So please have it done so you can see your kids this week.

Remember to be on time and meet at the RSF from 3:00-3:15, it is NOT Berkeley time. We look forward to having a great first day and pictures will be uploaded soon.

Hey There Volunteers!

Thanks for all that came out to interviews! We must now move on to Orientation.

Please remember to have your Tuberculosis(TB) tests done this week or next week. We cannot allow you on site with the kids if you do not have your TB test done.

You can take your TB test at the Tang Center or Berkeley Free Clinic. A chest x-ray will also suffice.

Coordinators

Our Info Session was on Wednesday September 2, 2009 and we wish to thank EVERYONE who came out to check us out! We were really excited to see all of you who came out to sign-up!

Those of you who missed out on our Info Session, we have posted the powerpoint slides, the packet, and application here on the website for you to look through and fill out.

We will be tabling on Sproul only ONE more day (Friday September 4). But don’t worry, we’ll be holding interviews in Common Grounds (Floor F of Dwinelle) all next week from 3-6:30 pm. So if you would still like to join, please fill out the application and bring it during the interview times. Those of you with appointments, make sure to be on time, the times are NOT Berkeley time.

The Oakland Unified School District is on spring break this week which means the kids won’t be in school. That means OASES will also be on spring break this week! There will be no tutorial this week due to OUSD spring break. So, tutors, enjoy your week off! See you next week!
